An idea to help ease the hassle of assisting a non technical client with a highly technical issue, remotely
The idea💡:
A simple, device agnostic, low friction, easy to use, privacy focused platform to assist clients remotely. A client has a problem on site, you need to help them, you exchange phone numbers (if needed), send pictures, get on a call its a back and forth, you send images back, your messaging app is full of duplicate pictures with highlighting and its a mess.
There should be a better way!
The goal 🎯:
The end goal would be a support server that the user can initiate either by clicking on a link (that can be sent to the user in a number of privacy first ways) which stars a support session. The technical aid gets a new session on their dashboard and can connect to the user. The user can also visit a support website that would initiate the session as well.
Your connected now, the hard parts over. The clients “app”, using any standard web browser, is sending a video and audio stream to your support portal. You can now connect to their session and see what their seeing. You can also pause the feed on their side, highlight specific parts, use a “laser pointer” all in order to aid them.
Once the support session is done, poof. No leftover images, no new unnecessary contacts in your phonebook, no app, no nothing the session is done and there’s no trace of it (unless you decide to download some of the images)
The tech 💻:
- ReactJS (UI)
- WebRTC (Streaming the video Signal)
- WebSockets (Connection Establishment)
